A perfect way to spend a Thursday. The climbs on this route are up there in the "hike-a-bike" category. Mountain bike shoes are certainly required for this route.

This route shows off how to connect the trails in Wicklow quite well - avoiding the road where possible.

One or two technical single track descents require good focus in order to select the most optimal line, but that is all part of the fun for me.

A very enjoyable route. It felt like this route had a mix of everything. Some hard pack gravel, technical single track and a couple of challenging off road climbs.

There is a few short (200 meter) "hike-a-bike" sections.

The off road trails are connected quite well with scenic road riding.

Difficulty rating: Intermediate/ Advanced

This road certainly requires mountain bike shoes - "hike-a-bike" is cumbersome in road shoes. We suggest avoiding this route if on a road bike, and instead consider the following route:
